At the time of the shooting, Rihanna was reportedly inside the home she shares with her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, and their children. Despite the terrifying situation, the family was unharmed.  

Suspect arrested after police chase

Los Angeles police tracked the suspect’s vehicle using a helicopter and arrested her about 30 minutes after the shooting in a nearby shopping centre parking lot. Officers reportedly recovered the weapon and took Ortiz into custody without further incident.  

Prosecutors say the suspect is being held on bail of around $10.2 million while the investigation continues. She is expected to appear in court to face attempted murder charges related to the shooting.  

Motive still unclear

Authorities are still trying to determine why the woman targeted the property. Investigators are examining the suspect’s social media accounts and background for clues. Reports suggest she posted troubling online videos mentioning Rihanna before the incident.  

Increased security

Following the shooting, security around Rihanna’s home has reportedly been increased as a precaution. Fans around the world have expressed concern for the singer and her family after the shocking event.  

Rihanna, one of the best-selling artists in history and founder of the billion-dollar Fenty brand, has not yet publicly commented on the incident as the police investigation continues.
