British Trump Supporters Warn US President Not to Trust UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer

A vocal group of British supporters of former U.S. President Donald Trump have issued a stern warning to the current U.S. administration, urging it not to place trust in UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, whom they accuse of being “deeply untrustworthy” and “hostile to America-first values.”

The warning, circulated through right-wing online forums and echoed at a small but visible demonstration outside the U.S. Embassy in London, reflects the growing tension between transatlantic populist movements and the centrist leadership now dominating British politics under Labour.

“Keir Starmer pretends to be a moderate, but he’s a globalist in disguise,” said Daniel Cook, a British Trump supporter who attended the embassy protest draped in a Union Jack and MAGA hat. “He has no interest in standing shoulder to shoulder with America when it doesn’t suit his agenda.”

Criticism has focused particularly on Starmer’s recent push for deeper European cooperation and climate regulations, which some view as signs of him aligning more closely with the European Union than with the U.S. “He wants to drag Britain back into Brussels’ orbit and weaken the special relationship,” said Rachel Leighton, a member of the UK-based ‘Britain First, America Always’ group.

The backlash comes just weeks ahead of a planned meeting between President Joe Biden and Prime Minister Starmer in Washington, where the two leaders are expected to discuss trade, defence, and Ukraine. Some within the U.S. conservative movement have already echoed concerns raised by Starmer’s critics abroad.

However, political analysts caution that the warnings carry more symbolic weight than policy influence. “This is a fringe movement with limited traction,” said Professor Alan Whitmore of King’s College London. “They reflect the anxiety of post-Brexit populists who feel politically sidelined by Starmer’s technocratic Labour government.”

Still, the appeal underscores how domestic politics on both sides of the Atlantic are increasingly shaped by cross-border ideological alliances. British Trump supporters see Starmer not only as an opponent of Brexit but as a symbol of the liberal political elite they deeply distrust.

In response to the criticism, a Downing Street spokesperson said: “The Prime Minister is committed to maintaining and strengthening the UK-U.S. special relationship, regardless of the noise from political fringes. He looks forward to a productive meeting with President Biden.”

As both nations enter crucial electoral cycles—Britain post-election under Labour, and the U.S. heading toward a 2024 Trump rematch—the rhetoric from fringe supporters is likely to continue, even if it has little real impact on diplomacy.
