Cole Palmer’s Parents

Father – Jermaine Palmer

Jermaine worked as a dental engineer and played Sunday League football in Manchester for nearly two decades before a knee injury ended his playing days. He was instrumental in Cole’s early development—taking him to Sunday matches, practising in the park, and teaching him the fundamentals of the game. Cole has shared that his dad “taught me everything about football”

Mother – Marie Palmer

Marie works professionally as a dyslexia assessor, helping identify learning needs and recommending support strategies. She has been described as supportive and encouraging throughout Cole’s upbringing.

Cole also has an older sister named Hallie, who is an aspiring designer and blogger.

Ethnicity & Heritage

Afro‑Kittitian roots: On his father’s side, Cole is of Afro‑Caribbean descent. His grandfather, Sterry Palmer, was born in St Kitts and Nevis in 1953 and emigrated to the UK during the Windrush era in the 1960s  .

Mixed heritage: Because Sterry is Black and Cole’s grandmother is white, Jermaine (and therefore Cole) has a mixed-race background. Cole is biracial, with white British ancestry from his mother and Afro‑Caribbean ancestry from his paternal side.

Celebrating roots: Cole pays homage to his Caribbean heritage by wearing the St Kitts and Nevis flag on his boots, alongside the English flag as a marker of pride and identity.

Cultural Context

Cole Palmer identifies as mixed‑race, growing up in Manchester and forging a strong connection with both sides of his heritage. He has spoken openly about his father’s background—how family stories and traditions informed who he became. His choice of boot design featuring both English and St Kitts flags reflects his dual identity and serves as a personal tribute to his family’s journey across continents.

 Final Thoughts

Cole’s background bridges cultures and generations:

His father, Jermaine, brought Caribbean roots and a passion for football.

His mother, Marie, added stability and educational support.

His mixed heritage has shaped his identity—not just through lineage, but through symbolic choices like carrying the St Kitts flag with pride.

Together, his upbringing and family story show how personal heritage and parental support can shape the rise of a footballer who now shines on both club and international stages.
