Gucci Mane ‘kidnapped and robbed’ in Dallas by rappers including Pooh Shiesty
Rapper Gucci Mane was allegedly kidnapped and robbed at gunpoint during a shocking ambush at a Dallas recording studio, with fellow artists including Pooh Shiesty accused of orchestrating the attack.
According to US federal prosecutors, the incident took place on January 10, 2026, when Gucci Mane—real name Radric Davis—travelled to Texas for what he believed was a legitimate business meeting about a recording contract dispute.
Meeting turned into armed ambush
Authorities claim the meeting was a setup. Shortly after arriving at the studio, a group of nine individuals allegedly stormed the location in what has been described as a “coordinated armed takeover.”
Prosecutors allege that:
• Pooh Shiesty (Lontrell Williams Jr.) pulled out an AK-style firearm
• Victims, including Gucci Mane, were held at gunpoint
• One victim was forced to sign legal documents releasing contract rights
• Luxury items such as Rolex watches, jewellery and cash were stolen
At least one victim was also violently assaulted during the ordeal, with reports suggesting they were nearly choked unconscious.
Multiple rappers charged
Pooh Shiesty is among several suspects charged, alongside rapper Big30 and others. In total, nine people have been named, with arrests carried out across Dallas, Memphis and Nashville.
Investigators believe the incident may have been linked to tensions surrounding Gucci Mane’s 1017 record label, to which Pooh Shiesty was previously signed.
FBI investigation and arrests
The case is being handled at a federal level, with the Department of Justice confirming charges of kidnapping, armed robbery and conspiracy.
Pooh Shiesty—who had only recently been released from prison in late 2025—was arrested along with several associates. His father has also been implicated in the wider investigation.
Potential life sentences
If convicted, those involved could face life imprisonment, underlining the seriousness of the allegations.
The case has sent shockwaves through the music industry, particularly given the close ties between Gucci Mane and Pooh Shiesty, who previously collaborated and worked under the same label.
Investigation ongoing
Authorities say the investigation is still active, with one suspect reportedly still at large. None of the accused have yet publicly responded in detail to the charges.
The incident marks one of the most high-profile criminal cases involving major figures in the US rap scene in recent years.
