Bob Marley Statue Returns to Display on Jamaica Street in Liverpool

The iconic statue of reggae legend Bob Marley has returned to public display on Jamaica Street in Liverpool, welcoming visitors back to one of the city’s most recognisable cultural landmarks.

The seven-foot bronze sculpture, created by renowned sculptor Andy Edwards, was originally unveiled in 2021 as part of Liverpool’s Positive Vibration Festival of Reggae. Situated in the Baltic Triangle on Jamaica Street, the artwork was commissioned to celebrate Bob Marley’s enduring legacy and his global message of peace, unity and hope.

Its return has been warmly received by residents, music fans and visitors, many of whom regard the statue as an important symbol of Liverpool’s long-standing connection with reggae music and Jamaican culture. The location has become a popular destination for photographs and a place where fans pay tribute to one of the world’s most influential musicians.

Bob Marley remains one of the most celebrated artists in music history, with his songs continuing to inspire audiences across generations. Organisers of the original project said the statue was intended to reflect Marley’s timeless message of love, equality and togetherness—values that continue to resonate around the world.

The sculpture also highlights Liverpool’s rich musical heritage. While the city is internationally recognised for its connections to rock and pop music, it has also played an important role in promoting reggae through festivals, live performances and community events.

With the statue now back on display, Jamaica Street is once again expected to attract visitors from across the UK and overseas, reinforcing Liverpool’s reputation as a city that celebrates diverse cultures and the lasting influence of music on communities around the world.
