Andrew Tate Arrested in Miami on UK Rape and Sex Trafficking Charges
Miami, Florida — Social media influencer Andrew Tate has been arrested by U.S. federal authorities in Miami following an extradition request from the United Kingdom. His brother, Tristan Tate, was also taken into custody as British prosecutors seek to have both men returned to the UK to face criminal proceedings.
According to the UK Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), Andrew Tate faces a series of additional charges, including multiple counts of rape, arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and further offences relating to indecent images of a child and extreme pornography. Prosecutors say the alleged offences date between 2010 and 2017. Tristan Tate also faces additional charges, including rape, sexual assault, and arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation.
The U.S. Marshals Service confirmed the brothers were arrested in Miami, although officials stated that the arrest warrant remains sealed while extradition proceedings begin. British authorities have confirmed they are seeking the brothers’ return to the UK to stand trial.
Andrew and Tristan Tate have previously denied all criminal allegations made against them and continue to maintain their innocence. Their legal representatives have stated that they intend to contest the allegations through the appropriate legal process.
The latest charges follow an ongoing series of legal investigations involving the brothers in multiple jurisdictions. If extradition is approved by U.S. courts, they are expected to be transferred to the United Kingdom, where the criminal proceedings will continue.
The case remains active, and no findings of guilt have been made. Under both U.S. and UK law, the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
