Three Dead and Five Injured in Mass Shooting Near In-N-Out Burger in Twin Falls, Idaho
Twin Falls, Idaho — Three people have died and at least five others have been injured following a mass shooting near an In-N-Out Burger restaurant in Twin Falls, Idaho, on Saturday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the busy shopping area shortly before 2:30 p.m. local time after reports of an active shooter. Police officers and paramedics arrived within minutes to find multiple victims suffering from gunshot wounds.
Authorities confirmed that three people lost their lives in the attack, while at least five others were taken to hospital for treatment. Several of the injured are reported to be in critical condition. Officials have not yet released the identities of the victims as family members are still being notified.
Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks said investigators believe there is no ongoing threat to the public. The suspected gunman was found dead near the scene, although authorities have not yet confirmed whether the suspect is included in the official death toll. The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
Witnesses described scenes of panic as gunfire erupted outside the recently opened restaurant. Customers and employees fled for safety while others sheltered inside nearby businesses. Emergency responders established a large security perimeter around the shopping centre as investigators examined the scene.
The FBI is assisting local law enforcement with the investigation. Idaho Governor Brad Little offered his condolences to the victims and their families, urging residents to avoid the area while police continue their work.
