The England captain received the honour at the 70th Ballon d’Or ceremony at London’s Palladium on Monday, 26 October 2026, bringing an end to the long wait for another English winner since Michael Owen lifted the trophy in 2001.
A SEASON TO REMEMBER

At Bayern Munich, Kane played a major role in the club’s successful domestic campaign, helping the German giants secure major honours while continuing to deliver goals on the biggest stages.
His achievements also included an impressive run at the 2026 World Cup, where he scored six goals as England secured a third-place finish.
BEATING THE WORLD’S BIGGEST STARS
The competition for the Ballon d’Or was fierce, with Kane finishing ahead of two of football’s biggest names: Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé and Barcelona sensation Lamine Yamal.
