On the evening of February 14, 2025, a tragic shooting occurred at the Three Horseshoes pub in Knockholt, Kent, resulting in the death of a woman in her 40s. Emergency services were called to the scene shortly after 7 pm, where they found the victim with injuries consistent with gunshot wounds; she was declared deceased at the scene.  

The suspect, a man believed to have been known to the victim, fled the area immediately following the incident. Later that evening, authorities discovered a vehicle linked to the suspect, along with a firearm, on the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge at the Dartford Crossing. Reports suggest that the suspect may have entered the water at this location.  

Local residents expressed shock and disbelief over the incident. Parish councillor Ray Picot recounted hearing “a couple of loud bangs” around 7 pm and described the pub as a “very busy… great pub” that “never has any trouble and is very well-managed.”  

The Three Horseshoes pub announced it would remain closed on Saturday following the “tragic incident outside the pub last night.”  

Kent Police have launched a murder investigation and are actively seeking the suspect. Detective Chief Inspector David Higham stated that there is no ongoing risk to the public and that efforts to locate the individual involved are ongoing.
