Billionaire Robbed of £100,000 Richard Mille Watch in Daring Late-Night Heist

A billionaire businessman was left shaken after being robbed of his £100,000 Richard Mille watch during a brazen late-night attack that has stunned the luxury elite and raised new concerns about high-value crime in the UK’s major cities.

The victim, who has not been publicly named for security reasons, was reportedly targeted outside an exclusive West London restaurant shortly after 11pm on Tuesday. According to sources close to the investigation, the billionaire had just stepped into his chauffeured vehicle when two masked men on an electric motorbike pulled up alongside him.

Before the victim’s security team could react, one of the assailants allegedly smashed the car window with a hammer while the other demanded the watch at knifepoint. In a matter of seconds, they snatched the distinctive Richard Mille timepiece — believed to be worth around £100,000 — before speeding off into side streets and disappearing into the night.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that officers were called to reports of a violent robbery and that an investigation is now underway. No arrests have yet been made.

The incident is the latest in a string of targeted luxury-watch robberies, with high-end brands such as Richard Mille increasingly sought after by organised criminal gangs. Known for their exotic materials, engineering excellence, and celebrity clientele, Richard Mille watches often retail for six-figure sums and can resell for even more on the black market.

A security expert familiar with similar cases says the robbery appears “professional and pre-planned.”

“This wasn’t opportunistic,” he explained. “These individuals knew exactly who their target was and exactly what he was wearing. Richard Mille watches are recognisable even from a distance and have become a symbol that attracts criminals.”

The billionaire, who is said to be cooperating fully with investigators, was unharmed but described as “deeply shaken” by the ordeal. His security team is also reviewing procedures after what appears to be a swift, highly coordinated attack that exploited a small window of vulnerability.

Police are examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area and appealing for witnesses who may have seen two men fleeing on an e-bike shortly after the incident.

The theft adds pressure on authorities to address the rising trend of high-value robberies involving designer watches, jewellery, and luxury vehicles — crimes increasingly carried out by agile, masked thieves using scooters or electric bikes to make rapid getaways.

As investigators continue the hunt for the stolen six-figure timepiece, the case highlights a growing reality: even the ultra-wealthy, surrounded by security and surveillance, are not immune to the organised crime networks targeting London’s most exclusive districts.
