Lucci Guthrie Charged With Attempted Murder After Alleged Mayfair Throat-Slashing

London — 18 August 2026

A 28-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following an alleged knife attack at an exclusive nightclub in London’s Mayfair that left a man with serious injuries to his neck and face.

Lucci Guthrie, from Croydon, appeared at Hendon Magistrates’ Court after the incident at the Mistress of Mayfair on St James’s Street during the early hours of Monday, August 10.

The alleged victim has been identified in court reports as 37-year-old Rhys Copas. Prosecutors told the court that Copas was dating Guthrie’s former partner.

According to the prosecution, Guthrie approached Copas inside the nightclub and a confrontation followed. Prosecutor Manisha Kukadia told the court that Copas allegedly slapped Guthrie in the face before Guthrie allegedly slashed him across the neck, throat area and face.

The injuries described in court were extremely serious. Prosecutors said Copas suffered an approximately 8cm wound extending from his left ear towards the middle of his throat, together with two wounds to his cheek. He also reportedly suffered significant blood loss, a severed jugular vein, nerve damage and an exposed voice box. His condition was later described as stable.

The incident caused major disruption at the Mayfair venue, with police attending after reports of a stabbing. The venue subsequently closed while the investigation continued.

Police raid linked to TOWIE star Yazmin Oukhellou

Following the attack, armed police carried out a raid at a property in Hertford linked to TOWIE star Yazmin Oukhellou.

Oukhellou was not arrested and is not being treated as a suspect, according to reports. Her connection to the incident was through the property where police located and arrested Guthrie.

The case has also led to scrutiny of the nightclub’s security arrangements. Westminster City Council temporarily suspended the venue’s licence following an emergency licensing hearing, after police raised concerns about security and the management of customers during and immediately after the incident.

Guthrie remains in custody and faces the charge of attempted murder. He also faces a separate allegation relating to threatening, abusive or insulting behaviour towards a police officer.

The allegations against Guthrie have not been proven in court, and he remains legally presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
