Ivanka Trump Reportedly Targeted in Alleged Iran-Linked Assassination Plot

Washington, D.C. — Ivanka Trump, the daughter of U.S. President Donald Trump, was reportedly the target of an alleged assassination plot linked to an Iraqi national accused of working with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the militia group Kata’ib Hezbollah. The claims emerged following the arrest and extradition of 32-year-old Mohammad Baqer Saad Dawood Al-Saadi, who now faces terrorism-related charges in the United States.

According to reports, investigators believe Al-Saadi viewed the killing of senior Iranian commander Qasem Soleimani in a 2020 U.S. drone strike as a personal grievance and allegedly sought revenge against the Trump family. Sources cited in multiple media reports claim that he had discussed plans to target Ivanka Trump and had allegedly obtained information about her residence in Florida.

U.S. prosecutors allege that Al-Saadi was involved in coordinating or supporting numerous terrorist plots and attacks across Europe and North America, including operations directed at American and Jewish targets. Court filings reportedly accuse him of providing support to both the IRGC and Kata’ib Hezbollah, organizations designated as terrorist groups by the United States.

Authorities arrested the suspect in Turkey on May 15 before extraditing him to the United States, where he is being held pending legal proceedings. Acting U.S. Attorney General officials praised international cooperation in bringing the suspect into custody and emphasized that terrorism-related threats against American citizens would be aggressively pursued.

The reported plot highlights the continuing tensions between Washington and Tehran that have persisted since the killing of Soleimani. U.S. intelligence and law-enforcement agencies have previously warned of Iran-linked threats against current and former American officials, particularly those connected to decisions surrounding the 2020 strike.

At the time of writing, U.S. authorities have publicly announced terrorism-related charges against Al-Saadi, but the allegations concerning a specific assassination plan against Ivanka Trump remain claims reported by media outlets and sources familiar with the investigation. The charges will ultimately be tested in court, where the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
