Romford Man Due for Release in 2027 Following Child Sexual Offences Conviction
A Romford man convicted of child sexual offences is expected to be released from custody in 2027 after receiving an extended prison sentence at Basildon Crown Court.
Tyrese Smith was sentenced in 2024 after admitting a number of offences involving a child. The court imposed an extended sentence of seven years, reflecting the seriousness of the case and concerns about the risk posed to the public.
The sentence consisted of a custodial term followed by an extended period of supervision in the community. Under the terms of the sentence, Smith will remain subject to strict licence conditions after his release and can be recalled to prison if those conditions are breached.
The offences included engaging in sexual activity with a child, sexual communication with a child, and possession of indecent images of children. The investigation was carried out by police after concerns were raised regarding the welfare of a child.
