Dust Devil Spins Through London Park

London — A striking weather phenomenon was seen spinning across a London park, as a small dust devil formed and briefly swept across the open ground.

The swirling column of dust and debris caught the attention of people in the area, with the unusual sight appearing to move rapidly across the park before eventually weakening and disappearing.

Dust devils are relatively small, short-lived whirlwinds that can form when the ground becomes strongly heated and warm air rises rapidly. Unlike tornadoes, they are generally not associated with thunderstorms and are usually much less powerful.

Witnesses described the phenomenon as a surprising sight in the middle of London, with the swirling dust creating an unusual scene in an otherwise ordinary day at the park.

While most dust devils cause little or no damage, they can occasionally pick up loose objects and debris. People are advised to keep their distance if one forms nearby.

The sighting highlights how unusual atmospheric conditions can produce spectacular weather events even in urban areas such as London.
