Yung Filly Faces Drug Possession Charge in Australia
British YouTuber, rapper and television personality Yung Filly, whose legal name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, is facing a fresh legal challenge in Australia after being charged with allegedly possessing approximately 17 grams of cannabis.
According to Australian media reports, the entertainer was allegedly found in possession of the prohibited drug during a police interaction in Greenfields, Western Australia, on 20 May 2026. Authorities have charged him with possession of a prohibited drug, and the matter is expected to proceed through the Mandurah Magistrates Court. Reports state that he did not attend an initial hearing in person and was represented by his legal team.
The alleged drug offence comes while Barrientos remains on bail in relation to separate criminal proceedings in Western Australia. In late July 2026, a jury acquitted him of several charges, found him guilty on two assault counts, and was unable to reach verdicts on three remaining rape charges, leaving prosecutors to decide whether those counts will be retried.
The cannabis possession allegation is a separate matter and has not been determined by the court. Under Australian law, drug possession offences are dealt with according to the legislation of each state and territory, with penalties varying depending on the jurisdiction, the quantity involved and the circumstances of the case.
Barrientos has not publicly entered a plea to the drug possession charge, and the allegation remains before the courts. As with all criminal proceedings, he is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
The case is expected to return to the Magistrates Court at a later date as legal proceedings continue.
