Multiple People Stabbed in Broad Daylight Attack in London’s Covent Garden

London, UK – 5 August 2026

Four men were injured in a shocking stabbing incident in London’s Covent Garden on Wednesday afternoon, prompting a major emergency response in one of the capital’s busiest tourist destinations.

The attack took place on Endell Street, near the heart of Covent Garden, shortly after midday. Metropolitan Police officers, paramedics and London’s Air Ambulance were dispatched to the scene after reports of multiple people suffering stab wounds.

Police have confirmed that four men, aged 34, 39, 42 and 52, were injured in the attack. All four victims were treated at the scene before being taken to a major trauma centre for further medical treatment. Authorities later confirmed that while some victims have since been discharged from hospital, none of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening.

A 47-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of assault and possession of an offensive weapon. Investigators recovered a pair of scissors believed to have been used during the incident. Early indications from the Metropolitan Police suggest the attack is being treated as an isolated incident and may be linked to a mental health crisis

Witnesses described scenes of panic as shoppers, office workers and tourists fled the area while armed police secured the scene. A large police cordon remained in place throughout the afternoon as forensic officers examined the location and detectives interviewed witnesses.

Covent Garden is one of London’s most visited districts, attracting millions of visitors each year with its theatres, restaurants, shops and street performers. The incident temporarily disrupted businesses and transport in the surrounding area while emergency services responded.

The Metropolitan Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident or captured mobile phone footage to come forward as investigations continue. Officers have reassured the public that there is no wider threat connected to the attack.

The investigation remains ongoing, with police expected to provide further updates as more information becomes available.
