There, he launched a sudden and frenzied assault, stabbing her 23 times with a screwdriver.  

CCTV played in court showed Majek trailing Whyte before the attack and then leaving the station shortly afterwards. Emergency crews found her gravely injured on the platform; she was taken to hospital but died three days later from a catastrophic brain stem injury.  

Trial and Conviction

Majek denied the charges at trial, offering no motive or explanation for his actions. However, the jury unanimously convicted him of murder and possession of an offensive weapon following overwhelming evidence, including CCTV footage and DNA linking him to the attack.  

During the trial, Majek maintained he was a teenager, but age assessment evidence established that he was likely in his mid-20s at the time of the crime, and the judge sentenced him accordingly.

Sheffield, UK – A former prison officer has been dismissed from her position and sentenced to prison after engaging in a prolonged and inappropriate relationship with a serving inmate, during which she expressed a desire to have his children and smuggled contraband into the facility.  

Charlotte Winstanley, 27, who was employed at HMP Lindholme in South Yorkshire, was found guilty at Sheffield Crown Court of misconduct in public office and transmitting an unauthorised photograph from inside a prison. She received a custodial sentence of two and a half years following evidence that she had maintained a “substantial sexual relationship” with prisoner Jabhari Blair, 30.  

Relationship, CCTV Evidence and Messages

According to court evidence, Winstanley began a relationship with Blair not long after starting her role at the category C prison. CCTV footage played in court showed the pair in intimate situations within prison premises, including touching and disappearing together into private rooms.  

Prosecutors also presented a series of private messages between the two, in which Winstanley made highly personal and emotive statements. In one text, she told Blair, “I’m literally praying to have your babies,” and in others referred to “date nights” and expressed her love for him. Blair’s messages reportedly reciprocated those sentiments, including expressing eagerness to have a “beautiful baby” with Winstanley.

Beyond their intimate relationship, the court heard that Winstanley also abused her position of trust by smuggling contraband items into the prison. Donald Trump’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame has become one of the most controversial plaques on the iconic Los Angeles sidewalk — not just because of who it honours, but because of how often it’s been vandalised, defaced or destroyed over the years.

Recent Viral Photo Shows Fresh Vandalism

In early January 2026, a photograph taken on January 8 showing Donald Trump’s Hollywood star covered in graffiti and offensive language went viral on social media. The image — shared widely on Reddit and TikTok — appeared to show multiple slurs scrawled across the marble surface. The person who posted the image said they were surprised by the wording when they spotted it on the famous strip. It’s likely the markings have since been cleaned up, but the picture reignited debate over the star’s place in Hollywood.  

This latest incident is just the latest in a long series of attacks on the star, which Trump received in 2007 for his work as a producer and host of The Apprentice.  

A History of Vandalism and Destruction

Trump’s Walk of Fame star has repeatedly been targeted — often for political or cultural reasons — including:

2016 – Sledgehammer and Pickaxe Attack

In October 2016, a man named James Otis used a sledgehammer and pickaxe to smash the star’s brass inlays. He was arrested on felony vandalism charges and later spoke publicly, saying he wanted to auction pieces of the star to support women who had accused Trump of sexual misconduct.  

2018 – Pickaxe Destruction

On July 25, 2018, the star was again destroyed by a man with a pickaxe early in the morning. The police arrived after the attack and the suspect later surrendered. The star was repaired, but this was the second outright demolition of the marker.  

Graffiti, Rubbish and Protest Acts

Over the years, Trump’s star has also been:

• Defaced with spray paint and expletives.  

• Tagged with political slogans.  

• Covered with dog feces and black paint during protests.  

• Decorated with art installations referencing Trump’s policies.  

These incidents reflect the intense political polarisation Trump’s public presence inspires — long after he moved from reality TV and business into the White House and beyond.

Should the Star Be Removed? Debates Continue

The repeated vandalism has fuelled calls from some local activists and politicians for the star’s permanent removal.

In 2018, the West Hollywood City Council voted unanimously to request that Trump’s Hollywood star be taken off the Walk of Fame. However, this action was symbolic — the council has no legal authority over the Walk.  

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which oversees the Walk of Fame, has maintained that no star is removed once added, seeing each as part of the historic fabric of the landmark. This position holds even for figures who later become politically divisive or face serious public backlash.

Trump’s Walk of Fame star is not unique in being vandalised — other stars have been defaced over the decades — but few have faced as repeated, high-profile attacks. Analysts point to several factors:

As long as it remains, it will likely continue to spark debate — and, unfortunately for the Hollywood Historic Trust, ongoing maintenance costs and cleanup efforts.

Antimatter: The Most Expensive Material Known to Humankind

Antimatter is widely regarded as the most expensive substance ever created by humans, with an estimated value running into trillions of pounds per gram. While it may sound like something from science fiction, antimatter is very real—and extraordinarily rare.

Antimatter is the opposite of ordinary matter. Every particle that makes up the universe, such as electrons and protons, has an antimatter counterpart with the same mass but the opposite electric charge. Scientists estimate that producing just one gram of antimatter would cost well over £50 trillion, far exceeding the value of any precious metal or gemstone. To date, humanity has only ever produced billionths of a gram, and even that required decades of research.

Storing antimatter is another major challenge. Because it annihilates on contact with normal matter, it cannot be kept in ordinary containers. Instead, antimatter is suspended in sophisticated magnetic traps inside a vacuum, where it is isolated from the physical world. A single failure in containment would result in instant destruction of the antimatter.

Despite its cost and complexity, antimatter has practical uses. In medicine, positrons—a form of antimatter—are already used in PET scans to detect cancer and monitor brain activity. In the future, scientists believe antimatter could play a role in advanced space propulsion, potentially allowing spacecraft to travel far beyond current limits.

However, for now, antimatter remains a scientific marvel rather than a commercial material. Its value lies not in wealth or trade, but in what it teaches us about the origins of the universe, the nature of energy, and the fundamental laws of physics.
