Thousands of Migrants Reach Spain’s Ceuta as Border Crisis Intensifies
Spain is facing renewed pressure along its southern border after thousands of migrants crossed into the Spanish enclave of Ceuta from neighbouring Morocco, overwhelming local security forces and prompting urgent calls for additional government support.
According to Spanish officials and multiple news reports, an estimated 2,000 to 3,000 people entered Ceuta in a single day, with many swimming around border barriers or crossing on foot. The sudden influx placed significant strain on police, emergency services and migrant reception centres.
