Indiana Woman Charged After Father Found Dead in Alleged Stabbing
A 32-year-old Indiana woman has been charged with murder following the death of her father in a case that has shocked the local community.
According to court documents and investigators, Serena Desiree Dolnics, of Valparaiso, Indiana, is accused of fatally stabbing her 69-year-old father, Gregory Dolnics, inside the home they shared. Authorities allege that after the fatal attack, the victim’s heart was removed.
The Porter County Sheriff’s Office responded to the residence after a concerned family member requested a welfare check when they were unable to contact Gregory Dolnics. Deputies forced entry into the home and discovered the victim suffering from multiple stab wounds. Investigators reported finding what they believed to be the victim’s heart placed on his body, along with several blood-covered knives inside the residence.
Serena Dolnics was taken into custody at the scene. Officials stated she had blood on her feet and injuries that were consistent with knife wounds. She has since been formally charged with murder and remains in custody without bond while awaiting further court proceedings.
Authorities have not publicly disclosed a motive for the alleged killing, and the investigation remains ongoing. Prosecutors are expected to present additional evidence as the case moves through the Indiana court system.
The allegations against Serena Dolnics have not yet been tested in court. Under the U.S. legal system, she is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
